Benefiting: POSTPARTUM SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL
EVENT: Climb out of the Darkness
EVENT DATE: Jun 24, 2017
DAYS TO GO: 9
Climb Out of the Darkness® is the world’s largest event raising awareness of maternal mental illnesses like postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety & OCD, postpartum PTSD, postpartum psychosis, bipolar/peripartum onset, and pregnancy depression and anxiety. This year's Climb is held on June 24, 2017 under the leadership of Postpartum Support International (PSI), www.postpartum.net.

This FREE event features mothers, fathers, children, community organizations, and health professionals from across the globe joining together to climb mountains and hike trails to represent their symbolic climb out of the darkness of maternal mental illness and into the light of hope and recovery. Rochester's Climb is a walk at Greece Canal Park, 10am, meeting at Towpath Shelther. The event will include kid activities, a raffle drawing, and an optional peer-to-peer support meeting to share stories and local resources in the Rochester area.

Walkers have the option to raise money for the Climb. 50% of money raised will go into the Perinatal Action Fund - a special fund set up by PSI with the goal of providing funds for underserved populations within the perinatal mood disorder community. The remaining 50% will go to PSI to support their many programs that help families and educate providers around the world.
